Drawing. HMS Ark Royal, lost on 14th November, 1941, covered five million square miles with her aircraft searching for enemy raiders in the S. Atlantic. She took a notable part in other theatres of war, in the Norwegian campaign and in the Mediterranean. Her aircraft shot down over 100 enemy planes, and planted torpedoes in an Italian battleship of the Littorio class, and crippled the "Bismark." HMS Ark Royal is one of the most honoured names in the Royal Navy. |
